Hi I'm David Rudd

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm a husband, father, grandfather and entrepreneur. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in a very active LDS home. I graduated from the University of Utah and Westminster College. I've had the fun opportunity to work for and own several businesses. I served a mission to Paraguay Asuncion and absolutely loved it! The Paraguayan people are so loving, caring, and accepting. I think of my mission there often and think about the great people I served and loved. I'm the father of 3 beautiful and fantastic daughters. All three were (are athletes) and competed in numerous high school sports and even college sports (track and soccer). Two of my daughters have the disease Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Living with this disease has taught our family so many great lessons: how to deal with adversity, how to deal with discouragement, how to trust doctors BUT most importantly it has taught us faith, hope, charity, love, kindness, understanding, and patience. Two of my daughters are married and brought fantastic sons-in-law to our family and now I'm a grandpa! As a family and for my profession we've had the great opportunity to travel and experience much of the United States and the world. We've loved traveling to Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Thailand, China, Australia, New Zealand, Paris - France, England, Italy, and Fiji. We've learned a lot by experiencing these diverse cultures. In just a few short months my wonderful bride of 29 years and I get to serve a mission together. We will be the camp directors of a recently dedicated church campsite.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know its teachings are true! Yes, I grew-up in a family that was very active in the Mormon church. My fantastic mother and father set a great example for me by being highly engaged in church leadership positions and activities. They loved the scriptures (especially the Book of Mormon) and church leaders. They were constantly involved in some type of church activity and enjoyed providing service to others. Growing up in this positive Church environment is and was truly a blessing BUT I also needed to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I gained my own testimony about the church and my Savior Jesus Christ by doing the "little things" over my entire life. I go to church regularly. I read the scriptures and other church books/magazines. I pray. I've prayed to

How I live my faith

I love to be involved in community and church organizations. Being actively involved helps me to better understand issues, concerns, and people. I've served in political organizations. I truly enjoyed being a member of school community councils and being a serving on a committee that worked closely with specific issue with a local school district. I've been involved with the Boy Scouts of America in many capacities. I learned to love scouting as a young man camping, earning merit badges, attending activities and this love has continued adulthood. I've served in numerous capacities (callings) in my local church unit. In these callings I've taught Sunday School classes (youth and adult), served with the youth - organizing youth conferences and trek activities, served with the young single adults and organized activities and service projects with them, and I've been blessed to serve in other church leadership positions.
