Hi I'm Tarynn Henderson

I am preparing to serve as a missionary in Arizona. I have a great love love for music, theatre, and literature. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a great love for music, theatre, and literature. I love to write lyrics as I play guitar and piano; I love to perform for people and see their smiling faces; I love reading to children and seeing their eyes light up with entertainment and understanding. In my short life, I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve, especially through music. Sometimes I wonder if music speaks louder than the words we simply speak. Music is a way to express our deepest fears, our pains, and our greatest joys, whether we are listening to it, playing/singing it, or writing it. Music is undoubtedly one of the greatest gifts I have been given in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

Some may say that, due to being born into a Mormon family, I had no choice but to be a member of this church. But believe me when I say this is the farthest thing from the truth. During high school I struggled with the idea of being "Mormon" and feeling as if I had to fit a mold that everyone expected me to fit. It has been difficult, but over time I have realized that there is no mold. Our Father in Heaven does not expect us to be perfect, no matter our religion, our family, our place in life, our job, our talents, and so on. He knows us. After all, He created us! We are His precious and beloved children. I love this church because I know that despite it's perfection I don't have to be. I may have been baptized when I was 8 years old, but I continue to be converted throughout my life, because I am human and flawed and weak, and that's okay. In my mortal life, I will never be perfect and I will make mistakes over and over (it's the way life goes), but as long as I am trying my hardest to pick myself up when I fall, I know our Father in Heaven will be right there waiting for me to come back to Him, and His son Jesus Christ, our brother, will be right next to me, helping me get back on our feet, as long as I let Him.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am preparing to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be serving in Arizona, and I feel very blessed with the opportunity to help introduce people to Jesus Christ, who has been my greatest friend in times of light, and my glorious Savior in times of darkness. I am so excited to serve the people in Arizona, despite my weaknesses, and share my testimony with them, regardless of how small or uneloquent it is.
