Hi I'm Gloria Pratt

I call Utah home. I raised my family here. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate of Brigham Young University. I married and raised three children--two boys and a girl. They are much smarter than I am! Their father drowned when they were 4 years, 2 years, and 4 months old. I was a single mother but made it through with the support of family, friends and the members of my local congregation.

Why I am a Mormon

My testimony has evolved through the years. The older I get, the more it focuses on the Book of Mormon—this ancient scripture brought forth by the Lord through the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1830. With every reading, the Spirit whispers that it is true. Flimsy attempts to explain it away leave gaping unanswered questions. And yet, proof is unnecessary, because the witness of the Spirit is more convincing than any outside evidence. The Book of Mormon is timeless in its teachings. It is a guide for our day. I bear testimony that we have living prophets in our midst. A loving Heavenly Father would not deprive His children of continuing revelation at a time when the world is becoming ever more wicked and depraved. I revere these men who have been called of God to counsel and guide us. I also bear testimony that, because of faithfulness to gospel principals, my life is filled with peace and happiness. My anchor is in the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that He lives. I know that He cares, and I do not want to disappoint Him. My life’s journey has been filled with His tender mercies.

How I live my faith

My calling is an unusual one. I am the Building Scheduler for our church building. It is a very large and very busy building. I get phone calls, emails or text messages almost daily with requests to schedule the building for funerals, youth activities, women's activities, firesides, etc. I will soon be released from that calling, because I am going to serve a mission for my church in Croatia. I will be working in the mission office in Zagreb, Croatia.
