Hi I'm Joyce

I am a Mormon. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I grew up in a small community on a farm. I graduated from college with my BS and Masters degree. I am a retired school teacher. I love traveling and have visited all 50 states and 7 contents. I enjoy doing family history and spending time with family. I enjoy serving the Lord and have a great belief In our Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Because of my faith and belief I have not only spent time in my local area giving humanitarian service but also in Tonga and the Ukraine.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I grew up being taught the gospel by goodly parents, teachers at church and others that loved me. When I was 14 years old I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. I prayed that I might know if it was true. I remember clearly reading in 2nd Nephi and having such a sweet burning feel my soul as I read. Tears poured down my face and I knew without a doubt that the Book of Mormon was true. I knew that Joseph Smith had translated it and that it was information for me to help me through my life if I would but pray and read it often. I know that like the days of old, we having living prophets on the earth today. They have been chosen and called of God to guide us through these difficult times we live in. I know that Christ lived and that he died for me so that I can return back to my Heavenly Father. I know that our Heavenly Father knows us individually. He knows us by name. He loves us and wants us to live his commandments and achieve all that we can on this earth so that we can live with Him again. I know there is a hereafter and that we can be with family and loved ones again. How thankful I am for this knowledge and understanding and know that others can receive that same knowledge and understanding of our Lord and his Son Jesus Christ too.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things to do is to study and research about my ancestors. I have done a lot of research looking for my ancestors and have visited some of their homelands in England and Denmark. I belong to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers - DUP- a group that meets monthly in our community studying about the early settlers of Utah. It has been a joy to make sure that temple work has been done for my ancestors so that we can be a family linked together after this life. I have a strong believe that extended families are meant not only for this life but that we can be together in the next life also.
