Hi I'm Luke

I was born and raised in South Carolina. I love music and computers.

About Me

I am currently taking time off from my college attendance at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah to go on a two year mission. I study computer engineering at BYU and love gaming and reading books. I also love to play music. I am a total band geek and played baritone in the marching band throughout high school and in college. I love playing bass-guitar as well, and I love to play jazz.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born and raised a Mormon, but that is not the reason I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because ultimately it makes me happy. The God that I believe in is one that allows us to repent and progress continually and become the best people that we can be. This is all done through Jesus Christ, because he suffered for us in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross. We can always follow Jesus Christ's example of love and service to help us get through hard times. As long as I am looking for ways to serve others, I can go to bed at night feeling happy about who I am. The Mormon church emphasizes following Jesus Christ more than anything, and by following those teachings, I am happy. The Book of Mormon teaches all about Christ; it is a book that has changed my life because I have read it and pray about it. I am who I am today because of it, and I am so happy that I am the way I am.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary right now in San Fernando, California. That means that I devote all of my time 24/7 to teaching people about Jesus Christ. At college I also was a Sunday School teacher. I loved doing that - I taught primarily out of the New Testament, and learning and teaching about the Savior's life was such an honor.
