Hi I'm Vince

I became a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1960.

About Me

I grew up on a farm, went to college, and then became a scientist. My life has been blessed by having wonderful parents, and great experiences gaining an education and a fruitful and fulfilling professional life. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in my 20's and the experiences in the Church have greatly enhanced my life. In addition to the profound blessings that have come from joining the Church I married a wonderful person and having 5 wondeful children. I have professionally been active in the study of earth science using advanced technologies such as observations from earth-orbiting sensors. I find no contradiction between my scientific studies and the Gospel of Jesus Christ given that we seek to find truth in all things.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up and benefited much from being a faithful member of a protestant church. However, with exposure to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my understanding of the plan of salvation, the essentiality of the atonement brought about my Savior, Jesus Christ, and many other spiritual matters was greatly enhanced through the study of the Book of Morman--a second testimony of Jesus Christ- and the instructions received and understanding gained from the Latter-Day Prophets. The Holy Spirit convinced me that I should join this Church even though I would be the only member in my family that is--to this day--a member of the Church.

How I live my faith

Through my Church membership I have been able to serve and interact with many people in teaching, leading, and service opportunities. In all these activities I strive to adhere to the commandments and precepts taught in the scriptures, listen to the promptings that come from prayer, and, most importantly, act in accordance with what I believe my Savior, Jesus Christ, would want me to do.
