Hi I'm April

I grew up in New York. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom. Most of the time I enjoy it. I like to read, watch movies, work with my hands. I've built some of my own furniture. I've helped my parents build one of their homes. I enjoy doing that sort of thing. I like being in the outdoors. I don't particularly enjoy cleaning my house. I'd rather mow the lawn. I enjoy playing any sport. One day I intend to finish my degree in math and then become a massage therapist. I'm involved with the Boy Scouts of America. I've had many odd jobs, worked as a cashier, bagger, sheet rocker, house builder, soldering computer boards, pie decorator, dishwasher, machinist building car parts, and in a slaughter house. I've enjoyed most of them. They helped me to get where I wanted to go.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. It has the fulness of Christ's gospel. The teachings of Christ help me to be a better person and truly that is my greatest desire in life-to be the best that I can be and to follow God's plan to make it home to Him. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I feel Christ's love for me when I'm doing what I know is right and true. That doesn't mean that I never have struggles in life. I do. I'm glad I do. It means Heavenly Father is helping me to be the best that I can be. It means He loves me. I know that He is always there for me. Sometimes I need to be reminded of that and that is what being a Mormon does for me. It reminds me weekly, at church, daily, when I'm studying my scriptures. I'm so grateful for such a loving God.

How I live my faith

I teach the adult Sunday School Class. I serve as a leader at our young women's summer camp. I visit about 5 women from my church every month with my friend. We check on them to make sure all is well and to share a spiritual message with them. This helps me to stay focused on God. I try to read my scriptures daily and to say my prayers. I try to do little acts of service whenever and wherever I am. I work with the BSA. I try to live the Scout Oath and Law. It helps me to be a better christian. I truly love the Cub Scout motto-Do Your Best. I feel the Savior's love when I'm striving to do what he would have me do and this motto helps me to do that.
