Hi I'm Bob

I'm a husband, father and grandfather. I'm retired and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Missouri, USA, in a predominantly Catholic family. After completing college I entered the United States Air Force and worked in the electronics area. During my service time I became acquainted with a family that was Mormon. This was my first experience with anyone of the Mormon faith. I joined the church in 1971. My wife and I have a combined family of 9 children and 22 grandchildren. I enjoy camping and other family activities. I also enjoy traveling, hiking and photography. I love working with young men in the scouting organization. I'm a Ceramic Engineer and worked throughout my career in manufacturing.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ and the restoration of the Gospel in these latter days. I joined the church because of the emphasis on the family and the programs that supported it. I have read the Book of Mormon and have a testimony of its truthfulness and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of the restoration of the gospel. I believe that the organization of the church established by Christ, during his earthly ministry, has been restored to the earth. I believe in a modern day prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and in the Quorum of Twelve Apostles. I know that God, the Father, and his son, Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. I know that God loves me and all of his children equally. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and that I can return to my Heavenly Father. I know that I will be able to live with my family for all eternity through ordinances completed here upon the earth. It is through this faith and knowledge I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always striving to keep the commandments and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. One of the primary ways I do this is by serving others. I have been involved with youth by teaching Sunday School classes and in the scouting organization. I have also served in various leadership positions within the church organization. I have served as a Church Service Missionary at a Home Storage Center. Patrons come to the storage center and purchase food items for emergency preparedness or as part of their regular diet. I am currently preparing to serve a full time mission, with my wife, at the Family and Church Headquarters Mission.
