Hi I'm Adele Piahana

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21, currently serving a full-time mission at the Portland Temple Visitors' Center in the Portland, Oregon Mission. Before I left for my mission, I was working as a Sports Trainer for a local football club where I utilized my training in massage and first aid, I also worked part-time at Subway and loved the employee discount.

Why I am a Mormon

That's such a thought provoking question. Both of my parents were members of the church when I was born, it was part of my upbringing - which I am very grateful for. So I guess the real heading should read; "Why I am STILL a Mormon". Another great, thought provoking question. There are many reasons why, but mainly because I have felt the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I know Him. I have a testimony that He is my personal Savior and Redeemer. I have felt the Spirit witness to me that this is the true church through my own asking, seeking and knocking. I have a testimony of the prophet, Joseph Smith. I know he saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that through him, Jesus Christ's church was restored to the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and, along with the Bible, it testifies of the Savior. Matthew chapter 7 says: 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. ..20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. The fruits are good! Experience it yourself! There is so much peace and lasting happiness that can only be found through the fullness of the gospel.

How I live my faith

Faith is action. It's doing something. "Faith without works is dead", so to live my faith I do something. No matter how small that something might be. My body lets me know when it's hungry, my spirit is more subtle when it needs sustenance. But just like my body, I need to be spiritually fed everyday. I do that by the small and simple things such as reading scriptures, praying and attending church meetings. As a missionary, I live my faith everyday by sharing the plain and precious truths that I have come to love with those around me.
