Hi I'm Jake Rigby

Born and raised in Cache Valley, UT. I like photography. Serving a mission in the Vietnam Hanoi Mission. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My hobbies are playing baseball, drawing, photography. I am serving a mission in the Vietnam Hanoi Mission. I am half Viet and I love this people and the culture. I have two younger brothers and two loving parents. I am a bit of a Star Wars Fanatic and can lecture you to death about it. I am also a big Lord of the Rings Enthusiest and love the symbolism of everything in the books. I also enjoy hiking and being in nature. Being in the Mountains is one of my favorite things to do and I absolutely love Utah in the Fall. I consider myself more of an Alternative Mormon. I never felt like a real Mormon and didn't do all the things that normal Mormons do. But I know that amidst all the rock and roll music and the different influences I came to really see who I am and who God wants me to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that this is the true church simpley because it allows us to be reuinited with our families in the after life. Too me this is nearly the same as eternal happiness. I have come to know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that he has shown me His undying love for me as His son. I know that He spoke to Joseph Smith in a grove of trees and I know that He speaks to us today. I have heard His voice for myself. I have felt his presence in my life and I truely believe in the work that I am doing and know that this Gospel is the greatest thing before sliced bread

How I live my faith

For nearly a year I was the only Priest in my ward, so I had the blessing of being able to bless the sacrement every week until there were more priests. This solidified my faith in the church after being able to read over the sacremental prayer over and over. Then as I prepared to serve a mission. I noticed that I need to actually believe these things in my heart and mind. These helped me know that His Grace is sufficent even for someone like me. I live and show my faith by loving everyone I meet, whether they want me too or not. I truely believe that we are all brothers and Sisters in this wild world and that we have to stick together to make it back to home.
