Hi I'm Dania

I am a journalism student at BYU. I teach ballet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with all brothers and a wrestling coach for a dad. They taught me to be tough. My family is very competitive and loves a good competition. My mom is very giving and the kindest person you could ever meet. I've lucked out with my loving family. I am in the broadcast journalism program at Brigham Young University and aspire to be a reporter for the church. I love video production and creating powerful media. I also began dancing at a young age and haven't stopped since. Even after knee surgery, they couldn't stop me from dancing and I completed dance classes on a bench. I have studied all types and love teaching and showing kids how powerful dance can be. Dance can give friendships, a sense of accomplishments, and of course, fun! I am also a member of a non-profit organization that seeks to heal the suffering and restore hope to those affected by the disease of addiction. I am very passionate about addiction prevention because I have seen the destruction of addiction in my own family. I know there is hope when facing with these challenges and that's one of the reasons why I love this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am a Mormon. My parents are LDS and their parents, but that's not the reason why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I know the church is true, and I'll tell you why. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and sent me to this Earth to learn and make my own decisions inorder to live with Him again. I also know that I wouldn't be here if it were for not Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father's son. He came and sacrificed his life for me so I am able to repent of my sins. In this church we focus on the Plan of Salvation and it gives me purpose in this life. I love my Heavenly Father and His gospel.

How I live my faith

I am currently in a Young Single Adult ward and I love all the members. It is nice because we are all single students who are working or going to school, or both! It's comforting to attend church with my peers and feel welcomed. I am a visiting teacher and my teaching companion is actually my roommate. We love preparing lessons focused on the sisters in our ward that we will teach. It is great, especially for me, to be involved with my ward and meet with everybody. I'm a pretty social person and love attending all of the activities that my ward plans. It makes me feel welcomed like when I'm home even though it's not my hometown ward and neighborhood. There is always something going on and the more involved I am the better I feel. Attending my church meetings and activities, I feel the spirit and I know that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I know that I am learning from my peers around me and I hope and strive to be an example for them in return.
