Hi I'm Lehi Heaven Osman

Currently living in Sydney South, Originally from New Zealand, Sister of Five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a love for dancing! Whatever style it may be, I love it. I took my first class when I was three years old. When I was fifteen I was offered a position in a competitive Hip Hop crew but turned down the offer as they would perform and compete on Sunday. Although I loved dancing, I loved this gospel even more and knew that I would be blessed for making the right decisions. I also have a love for basketball. My Dad encouraged me to trial for a rep team for the city we lived in. I was a little scared and nervous because I thought I needed more practice. One thing that brought me down was lay ups. I had no idea how to do one, at all and it was a basic drill. Every night my Dad and I trained. We started off and finished with a prayer. He made me do 70 lay ups on each side, including the centre, I couldn't miss one basket. Basketball players also need a good defensive stance so he would hold a stick at a certain level/height, if my stance wasn't low enough he would make me stop and do push ups. Rain or shine we trained. That was the most three pointers, free throws, defensive drills and lay ups I had ever done in my life.I trialled for the team and ended up getting in, surprisingly the strength and aggressiveness of my layups and technique of my shot stood out to the coaches and I was selected as the forward of the team. I learnt through this that hard work really does pay off as well as the power of prayer and its up to us whether or not we ACT, if we do so we will be blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this gospel. My siblings and I were born under the covenant and it is such a blessing to know we can live together forever if we do what is required of us here on earth. We were all sent to earth with a specific purpose and as we prepare to be an emissary of the Lord through missionary work we will be blessed with the courage and strength to stand as witnesses in all that we do. I choose to be an active member in this gospel, I choose to keep myself morally clean, I choose to stand for truth and righteousness, I choose to be an example to those around me and I know that as I continue to do so those around me will be blessed by the light of Christ. I know that this is the only true church upon the face of this earth, that the prophet Joseph Smith knelt down unto the father because he lacked wisdom. I know that The Book of Mormon is the most correct book of any, that it doesn't cancel out the Bible but works hand in hand. I invite others to find out for themselves if The Book of Mormon is true by simply reading it and asking for the spirit to teach and guide you, testifying of its truth. I am forever grateful for my membership in this gospel and my love and appreciation of our Saviour Jesus Christ grows daily as I strive and try my best to follow his example.

How I live my faith

I was born and raised in this gospel. I am so grateful for my parents for their example of marrying in the temple and for not settling for anything less. I have been taught so many lessons growing up in the primary and youth programs. I am the eldest daughter of five and I try my best every day to set a good example for my younger siblings to follow. My parents have definitely done a good job raising us and they show their love for us each day continually. I have learnt to rely on the Lord and to ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS pray. Every day before we would go to school my mum would say "don't forget to...?" and we would finish off by saying "Choose The Right, Choose good friends and hold on to the iron rod". Sometimes I would always remember trying to say it really fast so I could go and play with my friends, I never payed much thought to it, but its not until I am older that I realise those lessons my parents have taught me have really benefited me a lot. Growing up, scripture study and family prayer was a main thing in our home and I really feel it brings the spirit throughout our day/night. One lesson that has really stuck with me and taught a lot by my parents is the importance of tithing. When I was sixteen I signed out of the school I attended in Sydney so I could work and save up for my mission and uni, alongside completing my last two years of high school online. I didn't want my parents paying for these things and I learnt through this that we are blessed in so many ways if we are obedient and honest in our tithes. I am so grateful for being born of goodly parents who love me and have sought to teach me these simple principles and doctrines of the gospel. A scripture they've always shared with my family is Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it". I can definitely see this scripture working miracles in our lives as we are still active and strong in this gospel with firm standards, morals and values.
