Hi I'm Cheryl Jones

I am a Mormon. I was born to an active family. I attended church, and grew up with good examples of how to live the gospel.

About Me

I was the oldest in my family. I had four brother and one sister. I grew up in a small town, with many relatives, and enjoyed the association with them. I learned many things from them. I earned a teaching certificate and taught elementary school. I enjoy doing sewing and handiwork along with cooking and crafts. I have a family of six, with three girls, being the oldest, and three boys. I have had many experiences in the many different places that we have moved to. I have lived both in Utah and the mission field. I have made many friends along the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church to an active family. I was taught by my family and relatives actions and stories about how they felt about the church. I also learned in church from my teachers the principles of the gospel and listened to the prophets. I grew to have a testimony for myself about the truthfulness of the gospel. I attended seminary and institute and had marvelous teachers and enjoyed their efforts, and thoughts, and love for the gospel. When I had my own family I knew that I was to teach them, and make sure they had opportunities to grow up in the gospel. There were many experiences with my children that I could see the hand of God helping us. I know even as I get older, I see more of God's hand in my life. I am so thankful for being able the have the gospel in my life to help me. I know that God lives and Christ is his son. That they created the earth so we can learn and progress and come back to live with them. I am thankful for Christ coming down and showing us the way to return to live with God and sacrifice his live and taking my sins upon him so I can live with them. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

Being active in the church so many years has given me the opportunity to work with all organizations. I love teaching the young children and seeing their enthusiasm to learn. I have also worked with the young girls and had fun experiences in their activities. The women that I have worked with have been so kind and compassionate and good examples to me. Visiting the women in their homes, listening to their experiences and helping them when they need help, has increased my compassion for them. Working with the boys in scouting has been a joy to me. I enjoy being in the out of doors and enjoying nature.
