Hi I'm McKenna

I'm a student and a lover of simple things and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Junior at BYU studying Anthropology. I love to learn about people and hear their stories. I believe that truly understanding a person always results in a greater and purer love for them. I am minoring in International Development because I want to be able to use that cultural understanding to make a difference for good in the world. I love to learn new things. I'm a deep thinker and I'm always asking questions. I love to look at the sky and find beauty in the earth around me. I like to travel and take pictures. I have a bit more than a slight obsession with Harry Potter and all things Disney. I like to play the piano, do yoga, and watch funny movies. And more than anything else, I love spending time with my family - I'm the youngest of 3 kids and I have a niece and a nephew. My family means the world to me, they are my best friends, and they have helped shape me into the person that I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church, and I continue to live the gospel because of the peace and joy that it brings into my life. Because of the gospel, I know who I am and where I'm going. Most importantly, I know that I am a child of God and that He loves me. He has blessed me with so much more than I could ever repay. I'm a Mormon because the church helps me to realize my potential. I'm a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and have felt power and truth in its words. I'm a Mormon because my life is happier and my perspective is broader when I am living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in simple ways each day. I pray, I read the scriptures, I look for opportunities to serve, and I attend church every week. It is these simple acts that help me stay close to my Heavenly Father. Although I know that I'm imperfect, I try my best to be a little bit better every day. I also live my faith by trying to love others the way that Christ does. I am currently preparing to serve as a missionary in the Czech/Slovak mission. I am so excited and consider it such a blessing to have the opportunity to get to know and serve the Czech people and share my faith with them.
