Hi I'm Shauna

I grew up on a dairy farm in Idaho, USA. I'm a retired school teacher, I am a Mormon.

About Me

Having been raised on a dairy farm in Idaho USA I learned the value of work at a very young age. That has benefited me all my life. I was a member of my high school drill team where it took lots of work to be proficient. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education. I have worked hard for 32 years to help touch the lives of each child that I have taught. I taught in Idaho and New Mexico USA. I recently retired but found myself subbing in the schools because of my love for the profession and wanting to help shape the lives of the tender in age. My husband and I raised 7 children. As any parent knows it takes work to train and shape your children's lives for good. My hobbies are scrape booking, quilting, and making crafts to beautify my home and share with others. I love to garden, can, and preserve the harvest. I love to beautify my yard by raising flowers especially roses. I enjoy spending time with our grandchildren. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has kept me focused to do what is right and good in all aspects of my life. God is there everyday helping me to stay on the right path.

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful for parents that taught me the Gospel, and I want to share those truths with others. I love the Church and know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are real. I know that they are there for me at all times. I know the Gospel teachings are true. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he was instrumental in restoring the church to the earth. I have taught an adult Sunday School class for the past four years and have found much joy in my studying so that I could teach the lessons to those in the class. Reading and studying the scriptures have helped me to come closer to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I was raised a member of the church. My parents were always there for me as well as my sister and brothers. My first opportunity to serve was a age 16. I was asked to direct the music in our children's organization of the church. I have loved music and singing ever since and have benefited from a love of music in my teaching and in our home. I have had the opportunity to serve as a teacher in the children's organization helping to mold the lives of the young to learn to do what is right. I served my sisters of the church by leading and counseling with them, teaching them to better their lives through education and homemaking skills so they could better the lives of their families. I worked with the youth of the church teaching them homemaking skills like canning, quilting, and camping. I served in the community by helping with community clean up projects. I shared gospel messages with them.
