Hi I'm McKay

I'm from Utah and I'm serving a mission in the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn and I'll be finishing my college experience in a few years. I enjoy riding motorcycles and spending time outside with friends and family. I also like to take road trips and travel so that I can understand different places and people. Some day I hope to travel to many countries and learn new languages.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where both of my parents were Mormon. They taught me the importance of following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Throughout my youth I attended church weekly, was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and continued to live by its teachings. In my teenage years, though, I began to question my faith and my religion. I wondered if the things I had been taught from an early age were in fact true. Through earnest prayer, and diligent study of the Book of Mormon and the Old and New Testament, God communicated to me that the Book of Mormon was in fact true. I realized that if the Book of Mormon was true then the other teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints were also true. Even though I grew up as a member of the Mormon church, I had to put in effort to find out if its teachings were true. I found that I had to show God that I was willing to follow his commandments before he could strengthen my faith. So, I continue to read the scriptures and pray daily to make my faith strong. Although it hasn't always been strong, God can make our weakest points our strongest, and my faith in the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ grows stronger and stronger every day.

How I live my faith

In my church group (ward) at college I helped to organize activities for my peers. We met together every Monday night and participated in activities that helped us to strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ. We would often spend time talking after an activity about how that particular activity related to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and how we could improve our relationship with him that week. At the end of my time serving my classmates, I found that I had made many friends. I had developed a deep relationship with my Savior by serving the people who surrounded me, and I could feel how much he loved every one of them each time I planned and attended our weekly activities.
