Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Aubrey Cottrell

I grew up all over the South. I am serving a mission in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, speaking Spanish! I love to spend time with friends and family and do things that help and benefit others. I grew up as a member of the Church. I have lived in places where there are many members, and others where there are practically none. I have learned that when there are not many people with your same beliefs, you have to stand out and up. People will recognize that there is something different about you and ask questions. But that's a good thing because it can help us share the gospel! I am so glad that I have the opportunity right now in my life to share the gospel with the people of Fort Lauderdale! Sharing the gospel brings so much joy to me and I am so excited to wake up everyday and share it with all that I come in contact with.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of this Church and I love it. There is nothing better than being able to go anywhere in the world and know that there are always members there that can help or somewhere that you are always able to go to Church. How cool is that? I continue to follow this gospel because it makes me so happy. I love learning about the Savior and His life and all the many wonderful sacrifices that He made for me. It is truly amazing for me to know that someone knows exactly what I am dealing with when I need help. The Savior's love is what keeps me in this gospel.

How I live my faith

Right now the way I live my faith is by serving a mission for the Lord. I am living each day in service of Him and sharing the message of His restored gospel with everyone I can. I follow the commandments that have been given to me and find joy in being obedient everyday and every hour of my life. When we follow the example of Christ and we follow His teachings, we can be blessed for our efforts. At the April 2016 General Conference, Elder Holland said, "In the gospel, we get credit for trying and doing our best." I truly believe that if we do all that we can do, Heavenly Father will bless us and will help us in the things that we need in our lives.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Aubrey Cottrell
Mormon missionaries are not required to serve. It is completely voluntary and we are not payed for any of the service we do. We do not get to choose where we serve, and we willingly go wherever the Lord calls us. For the next 18 months I will be serving in the Florida Fort Lauderdale mission, speaking Spanish and I know that I was called by God through His prophets on the Earth today. Show more Show less
