Hi I'm Mya

I was born and raised in Washington. I will soon be going to school to be a surgical technician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm born and raised in Washington. I am the 4th out of 5 children, and the only girl. I build sculptures and sculpt. I also like to do special effects makeup as a small pass time and thus my favorite holiday is Halloween. I especially love to read. Sometimes I just want to spend the whole day reading a good book. I'm a fiery red head with some crazy attitude (but in a good way :P). I love spending time with my family and friends/ I like to get out of the house and do creative stuff. I never thought I would get a career in anything but art but because I have worked at a veterinary hospital as an animal care attendant that got me interested in the medical field. I have been called to serve in the Utah, Salt Lake City Mission and when I get back I want to go to school to become a Surgery technician.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a part of this Church but that's not why I continue to be a part of it and call myself a Mormon. I had to find the truth for myself. When I was 18, I had graduated from High School and I knew that if I wanted to keep going to church it was going to have to be for a better reason than because my parents wanted me too. So I followed the counsel that so many people had asked me to do in the past, I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I didn't get my answer right away, I had to start reading the Book of Mormon every day for me to get a testimony of it. But the answer did come. I knew that it was a true book and because I knew that, the rest of the gospel began to fall into place. Through a series of events I continued to build my testimony and decided to serve a mission. I didn't know what would happen, but I knew that the Lord would except my service with open arms and so I did it. I came out on my mission and found I wanted a better understanding of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Through repentance and many struggles I have finally come to understand what it means to feel peace through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I can feel His love in my life like I never could before. Because of Him I am happy. Because the those feelings of peace, joy and happiness I felt in my own life I want to help others find what I have found. That is why I am a missionary. That is why I am a Mormon. Because I love my Savior Jesus Christ and what He has done for me.

How I live my faith

I love to help those around me. I love to visit those who need some uplifting, and those who don't and who would just benefit from visit. I have been a secretary for the woman's organization of the church. I am a missionary serving in The Great Utah, Salt Lake City Mission. These have all allowed my to grow as a person to find how I can better help those around me in a more personal level, rather than just skipping along and not getting to know people and loving them.
