Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Oregon. I'm working on becoming a nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently in college, working to become a Nurse. I attend Brigham Young University, and my time there consists of class, work, dating, eating and Netflix. I love to play guitar, piano and sing. I have one older sister, and four little brothers. They are always a handful, but I love them!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because this church has given me a way to get closer to my Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because this church is full of light and truth. Living it's doctrine give me joy, and helps me to find light, even in the hardest times. I am a Mormon becuase I know it to be true.

How I live my faith

I have had several callings in the church, but the one that I find has challenged me the most is being a Nursery leader. I work with all the littlest kids, providing music time, breif lessons, and trying to get them all to smile and enjoy themselve. Currently, I am also preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Utica, New York.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Emily
Absolutely not. There are no requirement for a mission. Although many of us take the time to prayerfully consider serving. Some decide it's not for them, and some decide that it's what they should do. I personally chose to serve because I wish to follow Christ's counsel and "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations" (Matthew 28:19) of the joy of the gospel, in hopes that it will help others to come closer to Christ.
