Hi I'm Mitch

I am from Salt Lake City Utah. I have a Masters in Business Administration and love Star Wars, playing sports and hiking.

About Me

I graduated with my Masters degree in Business in 2014. For work I manage inventories all over the world for a mineral drilling company. I also work on the Board of Directors for a non profit group where we teach children about business and basic strategies of business in the classroom. After the classroom sessions are complete we invite the children to a city we have build where they will each own an operate their own businesses. Its very enjoyable watching these children learn and understand these basic and core principles of education and professional life. I love hiking around the beautiful state of Utah with my family and watching the stars at night and marveling at all of Gods amazing creations. I am also a huge nerd. I love all things Disney, especially Star Wars and the Marvel universe. My wife and I also can't have a normal conversation without throwing in a couple Lord of the Rings quotes. We also love traveling. aside from our annual trips to the beautiful beaches of Mexico, we like exploring new peaceful places to enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who already belonged to this church and understood its blessings. I followed along blindly until I was a teenager. As all teenagers do, I started questioning everything including my religion and faith. I even decided to not go to church anymore. I remember thinking this fun and that I didn't even need faith in Jesus Christ to be happy. My dad saw this and challenged me to ask God if he existed and what he wanted from me. I said that sounds like a reasonable challenge and I read the entire Book of Mormon and prayed asking my Heavenly Father if this book was true and what he expected from me. I had never in my life felt a stronger feeling of peace and purpose in my life at that point. From that point on I decided that I would follow the Lord wherever he needed me. After I turned 19 the Lord asked me to go to Brazil and preach the gospel to the wonderful Brazilians in Matto Grosso do Sul for two years. These two years were extremely difficult, but they were the best two years of my life. I think about them every day and I think of the lives of the people who learned about Gods plan and are now serving him. I continue to listen to God everyday, and do whatever he asks of me and my family.

How I live my faith

I believe living my faith is more than just doing my part, but helping others as well. In my community, me and a few others oversee the Sunday School. We have been working very hard over the last 18 months to help elevate the level of teaching in our classrooms. We feel like understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ can be complicated and sometimes when we teach it, we make it seem more complicated than it has to be. I believe that Jesus Christ was a master teacher and was the perfect example of how to teach so that everybody can understand. Our goal is to follow the Saviors example and help simplify the lessons taught in the scriptures so that everybody can easily understand them. Because I believe that as soon as a person understands doctrine or a gospel principle, than that can change their life. We simplify the gospel by helping teachers to create interactive and creative lesson plans to keep every student engaged. We are also working to integrate modern technology in to each lesson. We ultimately want to deliver a world class education about Gods plan to every individual. Because Gods teachings can improve everyone's life, but the first step is understanding them.
