Hi I'm Javan Gurney

I write music. I love my Savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18-years old, and preparing to serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently serving a full-time mission in Detroit Michigan I absolutely love music in almost any form, and I spend a lot of time listening to or creating it. I produce, DJ, and write music, as well as sing, and play piano, drums, and guitar. My goal is to go into music recording, producing, and writing scores for movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church, but then realized that I didn't know it was true for myself. So I studied and asked God, and discovered it was true. It has changed my life. I love the gospel. It has given me hope in my lowest moments, and light in the darkest places. The peace I have felt was REAL, and I can never deny that. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He loves me as an individual and will never give up on me. I want to live my life in the way He wants me to, because He has given me everything.

How I live my faith

I love service and volunteering. I have given a lot of time to my church and to other events through assigned positions. I served as a group leader for boys my age in my area, where we planned and carried out service projects. I also go visit elderly people in my neighborhood with my Dad, usually about once a month. We talk to them, and one of them always asks me to play the piano for her. It really makes her happy, which makes me happy too. I really love the people we get to visit, and I always look forward to it.
