Hi I'm Lena

I'm a wife and mother of 4 wonderful children and yes....... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for almost 22 years to a wonderful man that I love very much. I teach 2nd grade for a small town in South East Arizona. I love to scrap book, read, and just spend time with my family and friends. I love to talk and will talk about anything.

Why I am a Mormon

My father was a convert to the church. I was raised to love all faiths. My fathers family was Baptist and my mothers family was Mormon. So, I had the best of both worlds. When I was younger I would go to church with my father's family. I loved those people so much. I loved how they treated me. They loved me for who I was. On another occasion I tried another church. My parents believed that we should experience different churches and choose for our selves what we should do. On this other occasion I visited another church and those people treated me bad because I was a Mormon. That experience made me realize I needed to figure out what I wanted to do. So one day my dad told me a story that happened to him when he joined the church. His siblings asked him " what if when you die you find out the Mormon Church is not the right one?" My father thought about that for a moment and then replied " I guess it wouldn't matter because the Mormon Church has everything I want out of life. It is the way I want to live my life." That was my answer. I don't want to drink or smoke, I want to live my life exactly the way the church teaches. I want to love everyone and find true happiness. That is what I believe this church gives to the world. True happiness! With a belief that there is a Heavenly Father that loves us more then we could ever comprehend how can we go wrong with that. With the belief that there is a Savior of the world that paid the ultimate price so that we can have our families forever. That is what this life is about. I want that. I want to see my parents again. I want them forever. When they died, that was the worst pain I had ever experienced. I wanted it to go away and I wanted to know I would see my parents again. This Gospel does that for me. It teaches me that I will get to see them again. It teaches me that Families are Forever. It teaches me that Jesus is the Christ and He is the way the truth and life. I love that!

How I live my faith

I learned that all people can inspire you and people can disappoint you. I learned my job is to love and forgive on a daily basis. Life is what you make it. People can treat you good or bad but it is how you respond to their treatment that makes you the person you are. I am currently working with the youth ages 3-11 year olds.I get to visit different wards all the time to make sure they don't need any help. I have worked for 10 + years in the scouting program. I help plan our stake pinewood derby. I help plan activities for the girls ages 8-11. Every year we plan activities for 11 year old scouts and I help run cub scout day camp.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Lena
As a Christian I feel it is my job to learn all I can about my Savior Jesus Christ. In doing this I read from a book called The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I use this book hand in hand with the Bible to bring me and my family closer to God." Our of Latter day Prophets says this about the Book of Mormon: "The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and brings us nearer to God. The major mission of the Book of Mormon, as recorded on the title page, is "to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations. " When I read the Book Of Mormon I feel as though Heavenly Father is speaking to me and helping me know what I need at that time in my life. I believe the Book of Mormon to be true. I love it! I want all mankind to read it and feel of his love for us. Show more Show less
