Hi I'm Allison

I grew up in Shelley, ID with divorced parents my mother being LDS and my father being Methodist and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college graduate and new mother. I have been married since 2012. I graduated in Exercise Science with plans to work as a clinical Exercise Physiologist. I grew up with divorced parents since I was 3. Both parents have since remarried. My mother, whom of which I primarily lived with, is Mormon and my father is Methodist. I grew up not being sealed to either of my parents which left me with an emptiness I longed to be filled. The day I received my endowment I made the decision to be sealed to my mother and step father and one week later I was sealed to my eternal companion. My real father to this day has no knowledge about me being sealed to my mother and step father. Between my two families I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters and then myself. I grew up being the oldest in the family but always knew I wasn't. My mother had a child at the age of 17 in which she placed her up for adoption. In 2011 my older sister found us via social media and was immediately accepted as part of the family. I currently reside in Smithfield, UT with my husband and baby girl. I work at a physical therapy clinic and support my husband through school.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my grandfather, who was studying to be a methodist minister at the time, was guided by the spirit to the mormon church. Through a series of questions and readings (the Book of Mormon) he made the decision to be baptized. I continue to choose to live the gospel because I know it is true. It brings me true happiness to be a part of something so pure and clean. I know that there may be judgment by other people either within the church or not BUT I know that the gospel/church itself does not judge me and my appearance. I know that I am always welcome with open arms and that there is always somebody there to help me through the repentance process. I continue to be an active mormon because I believe in life after death. I believe that we will see our loved ones again and be with them in the eternities. I look forward to the day of a joyful reunion with family members.

How I live my faith

I strive to attend church every weekend no matter where I am. If I am unable to attend church I strive to study the scriptures so that I can still observe the Sabbath. I am currently the Ward Bulletin and Ward Newsletter specialist. I love this calling with a passion. My husband and I strive every month to pay our tithing, though we may have our faults at times. I fully trust in the Lord with all my thoughts and prayers. I fully believe that leading by example is the best way to spread the gospel non verbally. I believe and know that if I am in tune with the spirit that it begins to show through my actions. I live my faith by being open to others opinions and realizing that we all interpret the gospel differently but they come from the same core. I believe that we are given guidance not rules and it is ultimately up to us whether or not we want to accept the guidance given and follow it. I know that the church is true without any doubt in my heart.
