Hi I'm Morelia

Born and raised in Ohio. Singer. Artist. I'm a pioneer alongside with my sister for my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm second generation Mexican American, and I love my culture and my family. I come from a big family, also have a large extended family, it's a party. I love to sing, especially musical theatre. Acting is something I've always loved doing, I plan to being doing YouTube videos soon. I'm also an artist, I enjoy painting, it's a beautiful talent to have, and I'm grateful for it. I have slight social anxiety, but I'm working it out one step at a time, I'm getting better! I plan to go serve my 18 month mission when I turn 19, can't wait until I can serve the people of my mission! Also planning to go to BYU after.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted at age 14. I want to share my story. I was over at my friend's house who is a member with my sister, and we had the elders over for dinner. I never heard of Mormons, my friend didn't even tell me she was Mormon. So the whole time I was with the elders, I had no clue. They invited my sister and I to church, she said no. But we showed up that Sunday, the Sunday of Christmas week. I still had no idea it was Mormon, so when I was in church, the spirit was SO strong, it was like no other church I've ever been to. Then in Sunday school, the teacher was talking about the Holy Ghost, and that we should invite the spirit in the class by being reverent. I was at first creeped out because I honestly never heard of the Holy Ghost because churches I've been to never paid much attention on that subject. But I felt warm, I turned to my friend at the end of class and said "I want a Book of Mormon." I got it from my elders, I still didn't know it was a different religion, until I came home and my dad told me it was. Since I never heard of it, I looked it up, what I read was scary and full of hate. I was afraid. The elders invited me to a baptism a week later. I went, to see how it was, it was the best experience of my life. When we had a piano musical number, I bowed my head and thought to myself "What am I doing in life?" I cried, I was overcome by the spirit of God. One thing that still sticks with me today is when one of my elders looked at me and said "You see that fount? It's going to be filled for you someday." I continued to meet with the elders. I even had a dream of the fount overflowing trying to reach me, I woke up with so much peace in my mind. Before my sister and I even finished our lessons, we asked to get baptized because we knew this was the real church of God. We were baptized January 18, 2014. I know the church is true, with ALL my heart. Even though my family isn't in the church, I know they will find the truth in the Lord's time. Amen.

How I live my faith

I'm the second counselor in my Mia Maids class, in the Young Women program. My calling is to watch over my class, be a friend, come up with ideas for activities, organize the class, serve my class and others.
