Hi I'm Maria

I grew up in Utah. I love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from high school in May and I leave to serve a mission in the Reno Nevada area in October. I ran cross country throughout high school and completed my first half marathon when I was 17 and my first marathon when I was 18. I graduated high school with my medical assisting license and worked in a physical therapy office throughout my last semester in high school and up until just currently when I had to quit because I will be leaving soon. When I come back from my 18 month mission, I plan to study English and become a teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I would never choose anything else, because I have felt more love sitting in the church building or walking into the temple than I have at any other place or at any other point in my life. I have a burning testimony of our dear Savior, Jesus Christ and I know that He would not work with our Heavenly Father to create this world for us and then send us here just to suffer and then be sent to outer darkness. God truly did make a plan for us to return to Him, with Christ's atonement at the center, because He loves us so much. This gospel gives me hope, and peace, and power, and I wish that everyone in the world could have it. I'm a Mormon because I have seen the hand of God in my life and as I have asked Him many times if this church is where I should be, if this is the gospel I should be following, he has proven to me again and again that this is right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving. In the church we have many programs set up so that each of us is specifically cared for and watched over, and we in turn care for and watch over others. Because we are a family, we serve and help each other. As I grew up as a member of the church, caring for and serving others was something very important that I learned and as I am at work, school, internships, the store, or any other place, I always find a way to be of use to those around me. This is a simple Christlike attribute that brings The Spirit into my life and helps others to feel Christ's love.
