Hi I'm Carly

I am a regular college kid. I love to spend time with my family and friends.

About Me

I have been playing the piano for 12 years now. When I was in junior high and high school I took choir and it opened a lot of doors for me. I was able to sing in Carnegie Hall and record backstage at Disneyland. I enjoy writing, that is my current major.

Why I am a Mormon

At some point in everyone's life, they question their religion. Thoughts such as, "Everyone thinks their religion is right. Is mine the one? What if I had been born to a different family who had a different religious background?" I was no different. For a while, it was a real struggle for me and I didn't want to go to Church anymore. I prayed about it a lot, and my answer didn't hit me like a bolt of lightning; it was more like sand running through an hour glass-very gradual. I began to realize that when I was living the gospel, I was happier. I saw that the LDS, or 'Mormon' faith did good things, and as Matthew 7:20 says "...by their fruits ye shall know them." I didn't need to break all of the commandments to know that they were true, and I'm very glad I didn't. I know that the gospel is here for one purpose: to make us happy! And that's exactly what it did for me. I know that this Church is true and inspired, and I saw these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I have been a visiting teacher--that just means I would visit other women in my Church and ask them how they were doing and share a spiritual message with them. My Church callings in the past have been in the young women's presidency and teaching adult women. I was also a piano player for one of my past wards. My favorite calling so far though has been teaching the seven year old class.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We believe that everyone is a child of God-gays, straights, lesbians, etc. Our Church has a very firm standpoint though on same-sex marriage. We believe that marriage should be between a man and a wife. We don't believe it's alright to bash on gays, however we don't support gay marriage. Show more Show less
