Hi I'm Cristy
I didn't find God, God found me. I now have a family of my own and am going to school to become a teacher. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I joined the church back when I was 18 years old and now I have a family of my own. I am currently going to college and in my free time I love to read, bake, go fishing or do anything that involves being outdoors.
Why I am a Mormon
I originally joined because every time I met with the missionaries I felt a sweet peace and overwhelming sense of hope. It was as if my whole body was filled with light instead of darkness and for the first time I began to see life clearly. The missionaries told me if I got baptized I could have this feeling to keep and explained to me that it is called the Holy Ghost. After I was baptized I came out of the waters a different person. It was as if the shackles of the old me were left behind in the water that day. I continue to live it because I have never found more love and peace than what I have found by living these teachings, Heavenly Father's and Jesus Christ's teachings. The key to true and lasting happiness is found here.
How I live my faith
I love participating in visiting teaching which is where you are assigned a companion and have a list of a few of the women in our ward that we go check up on and share a monthly spiritual message with. My favorite part about visiting teaching is the friendships that are built. I have met wonderful women that I might not have gotten to know more personally otherwise. We truly have become more like sisters that are always there for one another when either of us are in need as a result. I also have a calling in the ward as a ward missionary. We work with the missionaries and often get to participate in lessons with investigators and help with anything they may need. As I have heavily participated in this calling I have had many wonderful opportunities to bear my testimony in a variety of ways and to feel of the sweet love our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our Heavenly Father have for every single one of us no matter where we are in life.
