Hi I'm Jared

I was born and raised in southern California. I served in the military before serving a mission, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My family is the most important thing to me. Being from California, our favorite place to go is the beach. My brothers and I love skimboarding, boogie boarding, body surfing, skateboarding, longboarding, sand boarding, mountain boarding and anything else that involves a board or an adrenaline rush. I'm a student in college wherewith I was able to serve in the military. My goal is to be able to major in Aeronautical Engineering and become an HH-60 pilot for the Air Force upon graduating. Other hobbies of mine include board games with friends and family, skydiving, cooking, and ping pong.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know of the capacity of love and happiness I have when I live His gospel, and to live any other way would be to knowingly live below my potential. I have a brother who suffered beyond description so that I would be able to find strength in him when I suffer because he has already been there. Jesus Christ is my brother and has asked that I help other people recognize and understand the love he has for them, and how could I not! By living the commandments and doing what the Lord has asked me to do, despite the hardships and adversity that come my way, I am overflowing with love and pure happiness. I testify of the power of families and the strength that comes from knowing families can be eternal. Even though people are taken off this earth for various reasons, health, accidents, etc, I know that because of the sacrifice Christ has made, we will be able to see and live with our passed family members and take part in the joy of being together again after this mortal life. I try to follow in Christ's footsteps because by doing so, I might be able to help others come unto Christ, and if there is even the slightest chance I can help someone else experience the same eternal happiness that I experience every day, I will absolutely do all that I can to help them feel that happiness and feel the love Christ has for them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through gratitude. God has blessed me with so much that I can't help but be grateful for what I have and for the life I have been given as well as tell others how grateful I am for them. I get to teach Sunday School for 12-13 year old youth at church and seeing their spirits and the strength that is within them, whether they know it or not, that spirit in them is so powerful that it is impossible to go unnoticed--both to me and their peers. With this opportunity, I get to spend 45 minutes every Sunday basking in their spirits and it makes me want to love more fully and live more righteously. In return, I get to do my best to prepare them for some of the things and situations that I lived and experienced when I was in middle and high school. And hopefully, if I can get their feet wet for what is to come, then when they are thrust into similar situations, they will be able to draw back on what we have talked about and be strengthened in their firmness to live the gospel of Jesus Christ.
