Hi I'm Lexie

I am from Utah. I love my family. I love to laugh. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Utah my whole life. I am 19 years old. I have Celiac disease. I go to college. I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up. I have a younger sister and she is the funniest person I know. I enjoy doing almost anything outdoors, but I also love staying indoors and playing bored games or watching movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. It is not always easy being a Mormon, we still have trials and hardships, but I know my purpose in life and that makes life more bearable. I have been a member of the church my whole life and have gained so many blessings and experiences to help me become a better person in the world. There were times in a math class that I had in high school when some boys sitting next to me would talk about inappropriate things like going to a party and what happened at said party. They also talked very crudely. One day I got fed up with the way they talked and being the fairly shy girl I was, got the courage to turn around and tell them to please stop talking that way. They one boy immediately responded in a slightly sarcastic tone, "oh are you Mormon?" I said with confidence, "yes I am." Now because they knew it bothered me they kept talking about the parties they went to. After a while of me going back to ignoring them, they began to ask me questions of my beliefs. They never showed too much interest in the LDS church but they began to respect me and we actually became friends who laughed and talked in math class. I am a Mormon and I love it. I love that feeling when I pray to my Father in Heaven and know that I am loved beyond my comprehension. I know that when we have trials, no matter how big or small, we have help because of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that if we have faith in Christ, if we repent and be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost, and if we endure to the end, we will have Eternal Life and life with God again.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect by any means, but I try my best to be an example to others every day no matter who I'm around. While I was a senior in high school I got called to be a friend for a special needs girl. Every Thursday night we would get together in a large group and participate in activities both spiritual and fun. There were special needs kids-from ages 12 and up- and there were high school students, like me, there to be friends to each special needs kid. I was extremely excited and my friend was very cute and funny; we had a lot in common. Being my senior year, there were a lot of activities to go to and friends to hang out with. There were times when I really wanted to skip out on special needs nights because there was an activity going on at the high school. But because I made the decision every Thursday to help out with the special needs, I received blessings in my life and in school. There were times when I thought I was missing out on things at school, when really the kids at school activities were missing out on what I was doing!
