Hi I'm Amelia Oross

I grew up in Southern California. I'm a sophmore at BYU majoring in English. I love to play volleyball and am an avid beach goer.

About Me

As I mentioned before I am a student at BYU majoring in English. With that I hope to go into something along the lines of an aquisitions editor for a book publishing company. I love reading, it's one of my favorite pastimes. I also love to play sports. I played volleyball, soccer, and was a long/high jumper on my high school track team. I come from a family of 6 kids, having a large family is such an amazing blessing. I love having so many people that I can turn to for advice and help and I never feel alone or not loved ever. I love my family more then anything else. I have a cat named Otis and he's possibly the cutest thing on the planet. Living in Southern California I love the beach and going out and tanning along with catching the occasional wave. Though I do not profess to be good at surfing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church is true. I have had it manifested to me over and over the truthfulness of this gospel through the Holy Ghost. I know the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ and to have been translated by Joseph Smith. I have been a member my entire life, brought into the church by my parents but stayed an active member by choice. This gospel has helped me realize who I want to become and has proven to me over and over again that my Father in Heaven loves me and hears me and answers my prayers. I know that Jesus Christ died for me so that I could return to my Heavenly Father. I know that through Him I can receive forgiveness and that no matter how bad I may mess up in my life I know that there is always a way to return and a way to change.

How I live my faith

I love this gospel. I attend church regularly and try to exemplify what it means to be a Christian in my daily life. I love to visit teach and serve the members of my ward. Daily prayer and scripture reading are a very important part of my day and I always try and make sure that I am living the standards of this gospel. I have been called to serve a mission in Maceio, Brazil and am so excited to teach the people of Brazil about something that I hold so near and dear to my heart and has changed my life in every way and has helped me become a better person.
