Hi I'm Clarissa

I'm a missionary in the Philippines. I love being outside and playing sports. I love to spend time with family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love being with my dog, camping and hiking, San Jose Sharks hockey, friends, family, and food. I've played the piano since I was 6, miss spending winter semesters snowboarding with friends, and am excited for the next adventures in my life, whatever they may be!

Why I am a Mormon

It took me a while to realize that being Mormon and living my life by fully following the church's teachings was perfect for me. I grew up going to church with my mother and siblings and found truth and happiness through meetings and activities but was very content with very passively living the gospel (never praying, never reading the scriptures, etc. and never knowing if they were true.) When I moved away for college, I found that life does indeed get more difficult, and the testimony of my mother, leaders, friends, and positive feelings I had about the gospel weren't enough. I needed to KNOW for myself about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, gain a testimony of prophets, apostles, the restoration of the gospel, etc. and then fully commit to growing and becoming a better person through a strong conviction and personal testimony of these things. I put in the time to study these things out through reading the scriptures and general conference talks, attending church every Sunday, participating in classes and then prayed to know if the things I was learning were true, and a very loving Heavenly Father answered. The spirit continually witnesses to me that following Christ's teachings and relying on Him is right and good and that this church is true. It's hard to explain or put into words, but the message of the restored gospel gives me peace, hope, and helps me feel happiness now!! I've asked God, and I know, and my life is forever changed in the best way. Everything makes sense, clicks, has purpose. I'm grateful for the decision I made to step out during a difficult time and finally know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and for friends and family who were kind, patient, and perfect examples to me. The only way to know for ourselves is to ask, but God will always give us a perfect answer. Such a blessing and many more to come when we commit to being better and following Him after knowing!

How I live my faith

Trying my best to meet the needs of people in the community, seeking out those who could use a helping hand, and being a friend to all are things I am always striving to do. It may not always be easy or convenient, but a willingness to lift and serve others helps me to grow closer to God and Jesus Christ. I feel like I can better understand Their character and strengthen my relationship with Them when I am trying my best to love those around me and make a positive impact. Attending church every Sunday is very important to me! It helps me to recharge and spiritually prepare for the upcoming week. Actively participating at church, going to activities, and loving those around me is strengthening and brings so much happiness!! And it's fun! I consider those at church to be some of my very best friends.
