Hi I'm Jared McMakin

I grew up in Utah. I Native American, an athlete and I am a Mormon

About Me

I love to play sports, my favorites are basketball and football. I played for my high school and made a lot of friends. I love animals and like to take my dog on walks, I can't wait to go and serve in the Boston mission. it's gonna be awesome. After I get home I'm gonna go to college and become a physical therapist and or a athletic trainer. Start a family and raise my kids in the LDS faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon religion. I was baptized at 8, given the priesthood at 12, made an deacon. Then became an teacher, priest and finally an elder. I'm still active in the church today because I couldn't imagine my life without it. My sister died when I was on 9 nine years old. I was angry and I thought, "why would God do this to me. If he really loved us, he would have saved her. She was only 20 years old." I kept on thinking like that for a couple of years. It was until I finally understood The Plan of Salvation and how families can really be together forever that I found some peace. I have received a personal witness that what I have said is true. Jesus died for our sins. He loves us. Joseph Smith restored this church back to this earth. Through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our families can be eternal. President Monson is a living prophet for our times.

How I live my faith

I'm an elder. I go visiting teaching with my partner and visit two families. On every Sunday, I go and give the sacrament to a wonderful elderly couple that lives in my ward and we talk for a while. It's the best part of my week. Sometimes I help my mom teach her Sunday School class. The rest of the time I attend my meetings. I am preparing to sever a full time LDS mission for two years. This church is true and is a wonderful blessing to me and my family.
