Hi I'm Heidi

I grew up in the United States, specifically in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from high school, though I'm often told I still look like I'm in my first year. I love to read, and I do it often. I play the piano, saxophone, and I'm learning the guitar. My passion is for the piano and I play as a means to release stress. I love doing things with my family. We play lots of games, and enjoy out door activities such as going on hikes or playing volleyball. I love soccer though I'm not very good at it. I also enjoy to play video games, especially with my brothers. When I attend college I plan to study family life and human development, so I can become a social worker.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, so I have never known any other. As I grew up, I started to learn more, and realize that though my parents took me to church when I was young, I now go because it is something I love. I read the book of Mormon for the first time when I was in Junior high. It is something that is very important to me. I know it is true, and I have felt that truthfulness as I have studied more, and prayed to know that this church is true. The first time I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true, I didn't get an answer right away. In fact it took weeks. I wanted to give up, but then I heard a talk given in my church by a missionary that had recently returned home. He said that we need to have hope. It helped to reinvigorate me. I continued to pray to know, and it was when I was off in the woods by myself listening to a stream, marveling in Gods creations, that I finally felt that it is true. I know that this is the true church and I have felt this repeatedly. I know that Jesus Christ died for me so that I can return to my Heavenly Father and live my family eternally. I am so happy to have this church and its teachings in my life. It means so much to me.

How I live my faith

My neighborhood is heavily Mormon though I have friends that are not. I go to church every Sunday. I am a ward organist, so I play the organ once a month for my wards opening meeting. Before I turned 18 I was one of the leaders within my youth group and I helped to plan activities for the youth, and I helped to make sure everyone was included. I went to our Wednesday youth activities. Now I am preparing to go on a mission.
