Hi I'm Brett

I'm from a big family in Idaho. I play the saxophone. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just a young college kid. I'm looking for a degree in music education and performance. I grew up around music, and it's just stuck with me. I'm also addicted to the outdoors. I've been disc golfing for years, and have recently picked up slack lining. Along with that, hiking has always been a wonder for me, and being able to see God's beauty in nature is always amazing. And anything in the water has a major pull for me. Swimming, boating, paddleboarding, you name it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am LDS because of the wonderful blessings that I have seen come into my life. The more closely I follow the Lord's directions and commandments, the more everything in my life seems to evenly fall into place. And the more I seek out and look for blessings, the more I realize I have. I have never had a necessarily difficult life, but the warmth, peace, direction and I guidance I have received in times of trials are worth any sacrifice, not to mention all the many temporal blessings I've been given. But with many commandments, I had to act first, then blessings would come, and I've tested this many times. It always works. I really gained a testimony for myself when I moved out on my own, and no longer had my parents' testimonies to lean on. I found that no matter where I went, or what ward I went to, or what building it was held in, the Spirit I felt was the same. The lessons are the same. The guidance and directions are the same. The love I felt constantly from my fellow members was always very strong. I feel safe with the church, that no matter where I go, or what life throws at me, God and His church are always constant.

How I live my faith

I was recently blessed with the calling of being involved in the activities committee. It was a wonder to me, because I was in a new town without the family and friends I had had to rely on. It was amazing how fun and it was to plan for these young single adults, especially considering that they'd have fun regardless of the activity.
