Hi I'm Jenny

I grew up in Utah, and struggled with an eating disorder when I was twelve years old. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Jenny I am a student at Brigham Young University, I love my family of ten and volunteering is what I have done and want to do aIl my life. I had an eating disorder when I was twelve years old and although it's gone now I still struggle with thoughts of inadaquacy and self esteem every single day. It's been my faith that has helped me be able to cope with thoughts of self doubt and has helped strengthened me in every way. I love being a mormon and love getting to know christ each day, I encourage others to get to know their savior as well and search out what he has done to help you with your own struggles and trials.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my heavenly father and Jesus Christ. I have grown up in the church my whole life but not until recently have I really understood why. I had passively read the scriptures until I got challenged by my parents to really search and study them. I began my scripture study on a quest to find out as much as I could about my Savior and how I could come to know him better. As I read and wrote down attributes and characteristics of Christ I came to understand how much he loves me and wants me to come to him. I have always felt inadequate and that I was never good enough to be apart of things, when I read about a man who accepted my imperfections and was willing to help me hold those burdens I was struggling with and even better that he actually knew exactly what I was going through because he had gone through the same thing, I was overwhelmed with gratitude and love. I'm a mormon because I want to follow Jesus Christ and become more like him so that I can help people in the same capacity that he has helped me.

How I live my faith

I have served as a friend in a Special Needs group each week, and am currently trying to serve others around me by trying to help with needs in my community and ward through serving them and making them feel welcome.
