Hi I'm Alexis

I'm a college sophomore who's a junior in high school, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family. Even though, sometimes they can get annoying, I still love them. I am the main artist in my family and I also love to make jewelry. I have had some really big trials in my life, one of them being a sister who has cancer. But if I have only learned one thing through all of my trials it is that Heavenly Father is watching out for us. We all have a Father and he really does love us. He never sends challenges that we can't handle. We may think that we can't handle them but we can. I also love to read.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, and I have never questioned if this is the true church. I know with a surety that this is the true church, and Heavenly Father really does look out for you. If you turn to him in your trials, he will help you. He will always answer your prayers. Maybe not in the way you would like, but he will answer.

How I live my faith

I work at my personal progress (a program for girls 12-18) where you complete different experiences for each of the eight values (Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Integrity & Virtue) then preform a 10 hour project where you demonstrate what you have learned by reading the entire Book of Mormon, writing missionaries, making bookmarks and giving them out... etc.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Nobody wrote the WHOLE Book of Mormon. Over hundreds of years, different prophets made records of times, wars and people. Then the last prophets of their time, Mormon and Moroni, went through all of the records and decided what to put in to the Book of Mormon and what to leave out . Mormon compiled and abridged it so that is why we call it the Book of Mormon. Then, at the last battle, Mormon was killed and his son Moroni, ran away with the gold plates to save them until he wrote his record and buried them before he died. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We do baptisms for the dead, because there were billion's of spirits who did not, or could not get baptized when they were alive. So instead of them going for eternity with out the blessings of being baptized, we do family history and baptize our relatives so that they can enjoy the blessings of baptism. Show more Show less

What is the difference between attending a church and attending a temple?

A church is a place that everyone comes together to learn and teach about Christ. A temple is a place that we go to do ordinances and make covenants with our Heavenly Father. In a church everyone can participate and learn. In a temple then only the worthy can go in because it is the house of the lord. Show more Show less
