Hi I'm Steve

I was born on land homesteaded by my pioneer ancestors in the late 1800's. I'm a retired university professor. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am first and foremost a husband, father, and grandfather. My wife and I have been happily married for over 40 years. We have 6 children and 22 grandchildren. I spent my entire career as a university professor, specializing in agriculture, and traveling extensively both in and out of the United States. I am now retired. My great passion since I was a young boy has always been the outdoors - hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, and canoeing.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? The answer is simple -- because the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me immeasurable joy, peace, and hope. The scriptures (the Holy Bible combined with the Book of Mormon) and the example of our Savior provide an unfailing compass and a solid anchor for life, especially in times of challenge. I know with certainty why I am here and what I need to do to return with my family to live together in eternal happiness with our Heavenly Father after this life is over. That same sure knowledge is available to anyone willing to search for it. I hope you will accept the invitation to prayerfully investigate our religion for yourself.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the LDS church all my life. At age nineteen I served as a full-time missionary in Venezuela for 2 years. As an adult I have served in numerous capacities in our church, including teacher, adviser of youth, and bishop. I enjoyed Scouting in my youth, and was an adult volunteer Boy Scout leader for over 20 years. I am currently serving another full-time mission with my wife in northern Utah.
