Hi I'm Bianca Mendez

I'm Dominican. I love softball. I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in New York for a long time. Then we moved and now reside in New Jersey. I have one little sister and a dog. I am a softball player for Southern Virginia University. During my time there, I studied Pre-med/ athletic training. I enjoy the beach, fitness and of course eating :) I love to cook, and I play piano and the guitar. I hope to one day become a physical therapist. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to serve a mission. I have been called to the California Santa Rosa Mission. During this time, I have left my family, friends, hobbies and career for 18 months to serve our Savior Jesus Christ and share His gospel with the people here in the Pacific Northwest side of California.

Why I am a Mormon

I live my faith by relying on the Atonement of Jesus Christ, which is the suffering, death and resurrection of our Savior. It has given me hope to be able to endure to the end no matter what trials or sicknesses have come upon me. Although my parents have raised me in the gospel, I truly feel as I have converted. Growing up in a place where not many of your peers are of the same faith can be a bit challenging. However, the Young Women's program in the church has helped me to stay strong. In Young Women's, adolescent girls from the age 12-18 gather together every Sunday and talk about the challenges in this world that can tempt us and how can we endure them. As Young Women, we did a lot together; camping, sleepovers, devotionals, parties, etc. These wholesome activities helped me to make life long friends, recognize my individual worth, and keep me clean spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I know because of my experience in Young Women, and the wonderful leaders I've had, that I was able to grow and learn about the plan Heavenly Father has prepared for me. He has a plan prepared for each and every one of us. I know if we follow Him, we can fulfill the plan our Heavenly Father has created for us.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is way more than just attending church on Sundays. It has played a huge part in my life. Both of my parents are converts. The gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed their lives so much, so they have decided to share it with our family. I would not want it any other way. I cannot thank my parents enough for the things they have taught me about being a member of His church. My calling a missionary is so important. I have been called by a prophet of God to share the gospel with people who haven't had the opportunity to hear it. However, I don't do this alone. I always have a companion with me 24/7. Together we go two-by-two and share the gospel with others. We leave our families for a short time, so that others may be with their families for eternity.
