Hi I'm Stephen

I'm a city boy from California who loves the simple country life in Idaho, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a recent college graduate with a degree in accounting. While I was at school I met the most wonderful girl ever, and through much struggle, I convinced her to marry me! Being married to her has brought me the greatest happiness in my life. I love sports, particularly basketball and football. I love teams in Northern California (Go Warriors and Niners!) and I enjoy watching games with friends and family, especially when they are fans of rival teams.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not raised a Mormon, though my mother was. When I was really young, I remember my dad being baptized and us going to church a few times, though the memories are vague. Then several years later when I turned 9, we started going to church again for a few months and I was baptized. That Sunday when I was baptized was also the last day we went to church. When I turned 16, family life got very chaotic. Of the many things that happened during that time, I had someone close to me pass away. This was my first time experiencing the loss of a loved one, and it was hard for me to come to terms with. I was burdened with the questions "What happens after this life?" and "Can we see and be with our family again?" This caused me to start praying often and to start my search for answers. I had an aunt and uncle that I called, and they encouraged me to start reading the Book of Mormon and to meet with the missionaries. Over a period of several months, through a lot of studying, praying, and asking questions, I found what I was looking for and more. The Bible tells us repeatedly that if we ask, we shall receive. The Lord repeats this promise so often because he means every word of it. Because of that promise, I now know that God is our loving Heavenly Father and that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I know that God has a plan for each of us and that we can be with our family for time and all eternity. I also know that our Heavenly Father has called a living prophet in our day, as he did in times of old, to lead and guide us. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a better person everyday and trying to serve and help those around me. I also try to read from the scriptures often and learn what kind of person I should to strive to become. I make mistakes all the time, but I know with the Lord's help that I can become the person he wants me to be.
