Hi I'm Tom

I love dating my wife and having family dance parties. I'm a father of three, a husband to my one and only, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in the most fantastic family! I honestly feel that siblings and parents don't get much better than the ones I have. I loved where I grew up. We did a lot in the outdoors and I had a very active childhood. Friends, sports, and everything music were big parts of my life. After high school I served my two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Durban South Africa and Swaziland Mission. Shortly after my mission I married the love of my life. We met when we were teenagers and I was far too in love for a 14 year old boy! By the time I graduated college we had two children. We bought a home in small town America, had our third child, and have been living so happily ever since. While growing up I discovered my affinity for teaching and my passion is now my livelihood. I am a religious educator for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints- I am a seminary teacher. I teach the doctrines and principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the scriptures. I have a deep love for the scriptures, my wife and my children...but most of all, for my Savior!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I constantly feel the Holy Ghost witness to me that the complete gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth and is found today within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That witness comes to my mind and my heart as I pray, study the scriptures, strive to live the gospel, and follow my Savior and His living Prophet on the earth. There are so many things that I cherish about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! One thing that I perhaps cherish the most is that it is the only church or religion that teaches a person who they really are and what their ultimate potential really is! We are all beloved sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father who wants us to have and enjoy all of the same blessings that He has and enjoys. As His offspring, we have the seeds of deity within us and can become as He is and can live in His presence with Jesus Christ and our families for all eternity! We have eternal value and infinite worth! This knowledge gives purpose to my life. It reminds me that I am living for something more than just the here and now. My Heavenly Father wants me to be exalted, or extremely happy, like He is. Because of this He sent His Son Jesus Christ to Atone for all of His creations and I know that it is only through Him that all this can be realized. Being a member of His church gives me strength, peace, direction and hope in my life. It helps me to be a better husband, father, brother, and son. I can become more like Christ as a member of this church because this church knows more about Christ than any other. If something is only worth what a person is willing to pay for it, then it goes to show that all of God's children are of infinite worth because Christ paid an infinite price for each and everyone of us. I am a Mormon, because of Christ!

How I live my faith

Aside from teaching Seminary, my current calling or assignment within my ward (local church group) is to work with the young men. Two to three days each week I spend time with five or six teenage boys who also live in my same ward. We have fun with each other. We learn knew things together. We go on fun outings and do educational activities. We serve the community and prepare for missionary service. Most importantly we develop our relationship with the Savior and help each other live His gospel. In other words, I spend less time with my own kids so I can spend more time with other people's kids because I know this church is true! For the past seven years I have also been blessed with the unique opportunity to serve as the assistant director of the Boise Youth Spectacular (BYS). BYS is a week long summer youth conference held on the campus of Boise State University and is produced by the Boise LDS Institute's Student Association. We serve approximately 1,500 youth throughout the week and provide them with opportunities to learn, laugh, sing and dance, while getting to know each other. We seek to help them grow mentally, physically, and spiritually with the hope that they will return to their schools, communities, and families with a renewed dedication to live like their Savior.
