Hi I'm Nathan Jepson

I grew up in Utah the first 18 years of my life. I love learning about the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy politics and foreign relations. I play the piano and the saxophone. I spend time shooting hoops, playing Nintendo, or reading the Internet. I like good meals and family movie nights. I like long car rides. I devour--profusely--epic fantasy, the news, and books about politics, world religions, other countries, economics, and history. I've graduated from high school. I have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Why I am a Mormon

I've received personal manifestations of the Holy Spirit, as well as many evidences throughout my life that have convinced me that the faith of my fathers is true, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's kingdom preparatory to Jesus Christ's second coming to the earth. I've read the scriptures as well (the Book of Mormon, Bible, and Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price), and have gained a witness that they are true. I've also listened to the words of latter-day prophets through my entire life, which gives me an indescribable peace. I've been raised by good parents that have taught me to keep the commandments and be a good person. I've gone to church every week, which has reinforced my faith.

How I live my faith

My church callings don't matter, but titles like "son", "teacher", and "friend" do matter. Callings are merely opportunities to serve my fellow men. I used to be a deacons' quorum president, a secretary in the teachers' quorum, as well as a 2nd assistant to the bishop. I've also been a senior patrol leader in the Boy Scouts. I've been home-teaching with my dad since I was fourteen. I've participated in ward choir since I was twelve. I was also priesthood pianist forever. I took seminary for four years (9th through 12th grade) and graduated. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary for the church. Reading the scriptures every day is one way that I ensure that God's spirit is with me.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Nathan Jepson
While the church doesn't endorse political parties, members are encouraged to vote for persons that would best represent their values, as well as persons who are upstanding and ethical. The church also gets involved in--and encourages citizens to get involved with--issues that are of a particular moral nature, such as gay marriage. Church members are encouraged to participate in politics on all levels, whether local, state or national. Show more Show less
