Hi I'm Leanne

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in Korea, and I love it SO MUCH.

About Me

I am a sophomore in college, majoring in something that I probably won't end up graduating in. I love to read books that make me think (none of that "Twilight" nonsense), even if they were assigned reading in high school--Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favorite books, but Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and The Help are among my collection of favorites. I enjoy spending time with my family: my favorite time of day is dinner time, when we all gather around the dinner table to share a meal and talk about our days. I oscillate between worrying about what I'm going to be in the future, getting a job, having a retirement plan, etc. and wanting to run away from responsibility, travel the world, and never settle down. Hopefully I'll be able to do some of the latter before the former.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love this Gospel. Because of the knowledge the gospel gives me, I have an eternal perspective on life that brings me joy. Even in the saddest or scariest of circumstances, I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, and that His son died for my sins. I am feel the happiest, safest, and most taken care of when I follow Christ's example and live His gospel.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following Christ's example. I know what you're thinking: Could I be more generic? But that's the truth of it: I read my scriptures, say my prayers, attend church meetings, and try to treat others with kindness. (It's easier to feel love for a total stranger when you remember that we are all God's children and He loves us all.) Currently, I have the privilege of teaching the 6 year old kids of my congregation, and they are such a joy to be around. While they can be a little rowdy at times, being acquainted with their sweet spirits makes me want to be a better person. I have recently been called to serve a mission in the Korea Seoul mission, reporting in October. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve the Lord and preach the gospel. I also get to learn a new language, which I'm looking forward to.
