Hi I'm Kevin

I grew up in Virginia (USA), I'm a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, music producer and teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town on a 27 acre farm riding horses and taking care of various livestock. I'm a multi-instrumentalist musician, singer-songwriter and producer, I also teach music part time so I'd definitely say music is my main passion, I believe that music has the potential to uplift others, inspire them through hard times, give people a message they can relate to and that speaks exactly what is on their mind and what they are feeling, document the experiences and situations of life and I believe it can brighten and improve the world one note at a time. I love the outdoors (hiking, biking, camping etc) I enjoy all the arts (music, dance, theater & film acting, photography, painting & drawing etc) I love to travel especially doing road trips all around the US. And I love my family I'm the youngest of five siblings (I have 1 brother, 3 sisters, my mom, several brother-in-laws and several nieces and nephews who mean the world to me). I'm always up to trying new things. I enjoy being around a wide variety of different people from different walks of life, I love to hear a persons story, everyone's got one and each is a bit different from the last so I enjoy hearing what people have to say.

Why I am a Mormon

All throughout my life I've constantly seen the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ be re-proven to me time and time again. every principal of the gospel has a reason behind it even if I don't see it immediately, eventually I see why the Lord gives us the instruction He does and it always makes perfect sense, if I have the patience to follow humbly the reason becomes abundantly clear. I've noticed that when I'm living my life the way Christ has taught me to live I'm better in every aspect, I do better at work, I do better in my family, I'm more patient, I'm more successful (and when I'm not I still have a positive attitude and outlook and I learn from my struggles more effectively and handle the hard times much better) I'm healthier, and most importantly much happier. I don't always know why but I can always see the results (much like the Higgs boson I can't always see it but I know the truth of it because I see the effect which proves it). I have gained a testimony and knowledge of the truth of Christ's gospel and His church which He has restored through Joseph Smith who He chose as a modern day prophet. And I know He continues to guide His church (the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints) through His prophets and apostles who He appoints and sustains to this day. And one thing I know for certain is I am a better person and every aspect of my life is better because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend church at a nearby LDS meetinghouse in my hometown. I was the children's music director for a while which was fun, and I've taught the teen Sunday school classes, Boy Scouts and other things at church. I try to live my faith to the best of my ability, like anyone I fall short every so often but I guess the important thing is that I always try to get back up again when I fall, it's like Nelson Mandela once said "a saint is a sinner who keeps on trying" so I do my best to keep on trying. I try to do my best to uplift other people, I've had a lot of very negative people come into my life in the past and I've personally known how negatively one person can effect another, so I try to do my best to be a positive force in the lives of people around me.
