Hi I'm Shelly

I am married with two children, I sing and teach others how to sing and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom and have two boys, a one year old and a 2 year old. I grew up in Southern California with a lot of diverse friends and moved to Utah to attend college where I majored in music education. I got married when I was 29 and have an awesome husband. I enjoy music and singing and sometimes like to play sports like volleyball and softball. I have struggled with confidence my whole life and for the past twelve years have been diagnosed with depression. I have gone through a lot of different methods of dealing with my depression and have found ways to cope along with living the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me from a young age the truth of this religion. I cannot remember a time when I did not feel that my religion was true and right. When I was sixteen I had a deeper conversion to this truth. I came to know with my whole soul that Christ died for my sins and that I can return to live with him because of that. As I have gone on in life my trials as well as triumphs have shaped my testimony of this gospel. I have had the sweetest and most tender spiritual moments as I have made covenants in the temple and was sealed to my husband for eternity as well as the times when I have held each of my sweet boys for the first time. Those are moments when I feel so incredibly close to Heavenly Father. One thing that I have had an amazing blessing of having in my life is that each and every time I read in the scriptures about Joseph Smith's first vision I have a burning in my heart that tells me without any question that what happened to him was real and that he truly did restore God's truth to the earth through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My testimony is a sacred and special thing to me, this church is true. I know it without any doubt in my mind. We all have trials but the way through them is found in this the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love what I get to do in church. I work with the Young women youth. I get to plan activities each week that are fun but also teach them qualities of a strong and faithful woman. Along with that I get to teach them the gospel on Sundays. They have become my close friends and I love them as sisters. I visit teach some wonderful woman who live close by who have also become my friends and sisters. I love participating in community choirs when I can and right now I have the opportunity of performing in The Messiah.
