Hi I'm Josh

I love sports, the outdoors, and music (Coldplay)!! And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love music! I love listening to it and playing it! Coldplay is number 1, but there are many other alternative/pop rock bands that come close! I took piano lessons for about 8 years, and I've played guitar for about 4 years. I also love movies! Christopher Nolan is my favorite director by a long shot. Every film of his that I have watched is tremendous! I grew up playing baseball and basketball and going boating. I played for my high school tennis team and golf team. I have worked in many positions in the past 4 years. I have mown lawns, worked in a HVAC metal shop, been a busser and waiter at a restaurant, sold knives, and interned at a software engineering company. I've completed 1 year of college. After declaring my major in computer science, I worked at a 8-month internship with a software engineering company. That internship influenced me to change my mind about my career choices. As of now I'm not sure about what I'll study, but it will probably be in the school of business.

Why I am a Mormon

After High school, the majority of my guy friends decided to serve LDS missions! And I wasn't sure if I actually had a real testimony of the church, or if I was just living a life that I was raised to live. Shortly after going to college, I soon found out that I did. I found that I loved going to church and feeling the Spirit every week, feeling that love and the peace in my heart! I especially felt it in sacrament meeting. I was also able to read the entire Book of Mormon up at college. After I finished the last verse in the Book, I was prayed about it and was pondering its teachings when I felt a strong burning in my heart and a sense of clarity in my mind that the Book of mormon is true, and the Joseph Smith HAD to have translated it by the power of God. I felt like I finally had the testimony of the book and the church that I was looking for! I don't have a rock solid testimony of every principle of the Gospel, even though I have a firm belief that they are true! I know that I will gain a stronger testimony about other principles of the gospel as I continue through life and I'm grateful for that ability. I'm grateful that this church is a church of Progression and not a church of Perfection

How I live my faith

I've had callings since I was a 12 or 13. Even though those callings sometimes took time out of my day, I enjoyed helping out and doing my best to help lead the young men in my age group. I enjoyed having to decide what activities my own quorum would be doing, and deciding on what the entire youth would do for combined young-adult activities. When I went to college, I was called to be a Family Home Evening leader. since we were at college and weren't with our actual families, we combined about 4 apartments to make a group that would participate in a Family Home Evening activity. My job was to choose an activity for our group, select someone to give a little gospel lesson, and make some treats which usually consisted of brownies! Currently I have a call to serve in the Costa Rica San Jose West mission and I leave at the end of September.
