Hi I'm Jakob Mafi

I grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah. I now prepare to serve a full time mission in Auckland, New Zealand. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I have grown up playing and loving sports! I just recently graduated from High School and now plan to serve a full time mission in the New Zealand Auckland Tongan speaking mission. My dad grew up in Tonga, I am very excited to be able to speak to him in his native language! My mom grew up in Utah. I have 3 siblings, a 19 y/o brother, who currently is serving a mission in the Tonga Nuku'alofa mission, a younger sister who is a Jr. in High School and a little brother who is now in 2nd grade.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church all of my life. My parents have raised us to be members of the church, but I can not say that I was forced into it. My parents have always given us kids the option whether we wanted to go to church or not. They've always given us our agency, and left the choice up to me as to whether or not I wanted to be apart of this religion. Being a member of this church is absolutely not easy. But everything that our Savior and Heavenly Father asks us to do is for a reason, and after all is said and done, it is sooo worth it. I'm so grateful for this gospel, and I know without it I would be lost. I have a testimony that this is the restored gospel. I know that without a shadow of a doubt this is the true church. I have felt the Spirit testify of it's truthfulness unto me. When I feel sad or discouraged about something, it's very reassuring to have the knowledge that I do. It's comforting to know that I can get down on my knees and pray unto my Father in Heaven for strength or courage. He is always there for us, just waiting for us to ask of him. He is willing to help us in all things, all we need to do is ask, and I know this to be true. I am so grateful for that, and for everything that our Father has done for each and every one of us, and I'm grateful for his Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. I know that through Them we can be saved, and return once more to live in Their presence.

How I live my faith

Well I feel like serving a mission is the biggest example of how I live my faith. I have prepared my whole life to be able to serve a mission, and I can't wait to be able to get out and serve our Heavenly Father. I have enjoyed a few different home teaching companions, and have loved sharing messages of our faith to the families that I have been able to home teach.
