Hi I'm Jacob

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City with my brothers and sisters. I wrestle, hike, and read. And I'm a mormon.

About Me

I have always been a member of the church, but it wasn't until a couple years ago that I really started to know how special being a member was. I came to a point in my life where I had to decide whether I really believed all the doctrines and principles of the church. I took a look at my life and decided that I had to know whether I really believed in what I said I did. As I took Moroni's promise in Moroni 10: 3-5 and looked at how the gospel had affected my life for the better: the love my family has, the comfort that I have received, and the knowledge about life that I have I came to realize that I had been truly blessed to be born in the gospel. Now I am glad to be able to share the knowledge that I have come to gain with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the blessings that I have received and the knowledge and comfort that it has given me. I am a Mormon because I have lived the gospel and found it to be good.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of Jesus Christ, by being a good friend and family member, and by striving to become the best that I can in all things I do.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Jacob
The book of mormon was written by the inhabitants of the american continents starting with the exodus of a family of israelites before Jurusalem was taken over by invaders. It is another testiment of Jesus Christ who came and visited the people of the Americas following his crucifixion. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jacob
The atonement of Jesus Christ was the process that Christ went through, suffering for all our sins, in order to allow us to overcome the destructive effects of sin. It was necessary for Christ to perform the Atonement because we all become tainted by the negative effects of sin and "no unclean thing can enter into the kingdom of God" so someone who was pure, who had never sinned had to pay the price for our sins. Christ also wanted to be able to help us when we have problems, so he went through all the hardship and trials that we will ever face so that he would be able to understand what we were going through and comfort us in our times of need.
