Hi I'm Jeremy

I've grown up in Utah, but am currently living in Peru. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love media. Making or listening to music has always been an addiction to me. I also love photography and film making. During high school, my friends and I took several film making classes, and I loved learning to shoot and edit videos. I also love going to see musicals or plays. I'm the oldest of 4 kids and I try to always be an example to my younger siblings in the things I do. I'm currently serving a full time mission in Cusco, Peru, where I get the opportunity to preach the Gospel to everyone I meet.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, because the church has helped me in every aspect of my life. Our life here is not easy. We all have problems or challenges that we have to go through, and it can get pretty discouraging. However, I've found that Christ can help us through those hard times. Being part of His church has helped me to overcome some personal challenges and to be able to find hope and joy in everything I do. It's that simple.

How I live my faith

Currently I live my faith as a representative of Jesus Christ. As a full time missionary, I'm spending 2 years in Peru, preaching the Gospel to those that I meet. My main goal is to help them to come unto Christ so that He may always help them in their times of trial. That was something I always tried to do before I was a missionary as well. In the Book of Mormon, a book of scripture in our church, Jesus Christ teaches that we should try to become even as He is. To me, that means constantly trying to be a good person. In the church, we teach other that we should serve others, love them, and try to be a light to the world. I think that by doing those small and simple things, we really live our faith and show that we are "an example of the believers" (1 Timothy 4:12)

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

When I think about the scriptures I tend to think about Legos. Playing with Legos is really fun, but left on your own it's really hard to build the rocket ship or the castle that's on the box. Our life is very similar. It's a really fun time, but it can also be hard. It might not end up how we want it to be. Luckily, every Lego kit comes with instructions. The scriptures serve the same purpose as the instructions. They teach us how we can come closer to Christ, live His teachings, and be happy. And that happiness isn't some temporary thing, it's a happiness that will last our entire life and in the life to come. It comes through reading the scriptures and applying them to our lives. It's not always easy, but the reward is always worth it. Show more Show less
