Hi I'm Madeline

I grew up all over the world. I'm a student at BYU-Idaho. Called to serve in the Mexico City North Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah, but my dad's job as a musician in the U.S. Army has taken my family all over the world. I'm the oldest of four siblings. I love traveling, hiking, baking, and jazz music. I love laughing and being weird with my loved ones. I'm a musician. I'm studying elementary education at BYU-Idaho, and eventually I want to teach music in elementary schools. I'm halfway through my junior year, but I'm putting my education on hold for a year and a half to share the gospel in Mexico City.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel fills me with hope. There is no greater source of light, peace, and joy in this life. The gospel comforts me and uplifts me. It guides me and directs me. The gospel helps me understand my divine potential. I am a Mormon because I want to become more like Christ. I know that he loves each of us more than we can imagine. He hears my prayers. His love strengthens me when I feel weak and his mercy uplifts me when I make mistakes. I know the Atonement is real. Jesus Christ suffered and died for us so that we could have second chances. I am a Mormon because the gospel inspires and encourages me to be the best I can be.

How I live my faith

One of the best ways I know to live my faith is to be an example of Christ. I try my best to love and serve as he did. To forgive others freely, as he forgives me. To be kind and compassionate, as he is. Currently I am living my faith by serving an 18 month mission in Mexico City. I'm leaving behind my family, friends, education, and all the comforts of home, because I want others to experience the blessings of peace and joy that come with the knowledge of the gospel. I want others to be with their families for eternity. I have a deep desire to serve the Lord, and I know this is where He wants me to be.
