Hi I'm Jill

I grew up in Murray, Utah. I'm currently serving in the New York, New York South Mission, I LOVE Lake Powell and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play the piano, water ski, rock climb, play games with my family, watch college football, and spend time with my nieces. I have been called to serve in the New York, New York South Spanish speaking mission! I can't wait to teach about the love that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father have for us. Choosing to serve a mission was not an easy decision. I've always struggled with anxiety, but my junior year of high school, I became depressed and very introverted. I was also diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) as a 17 year old.(!!!) I now had to learn how to study all over again, to calm my anxieties, and to bring myself out of a slump. I prayed a lot and read the scriptures and received my patriarchal blessing. I still struggle with my mood, and anxiety, but through the Atonement of Christ, I am able to remember that I will be able to get through this hard time, and continue on with the faith and knowledge that Jesus Christ knows exactly how I feel, especially when it seems that no one understands. For those of you struggling with depression, anxiety or anything at all, YOU CAN DO THIS.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be with my family for eternity. I grew up in the Church, but I received my own testimony when I was about to turn 14 years old. I had gone to a church camp for girls called Oakcrest. We were up in the mountains where I was able to pray to know that this Gospel was true and to find scriptures that gave me more proof that this Church is true! I am so grateful for the Commandments and the Word of Wisdom. They make our lives so much happier! I have chosen to serve a mission because I want to give those people that I teach the knowledge of eternal families that I have. That you can repent of sins and be truly forgiven and to one day return to our Father in Heaven. This Gospel is special!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by not always knowing all of the answers. I came on a mission because I knew I was supposed to, and that it was something I knew I wanted to do for as long as I can remember. But now that I'm here, it's a whole lot harder than I could have ever imagined. But, even though it is hard, I know that Jesus Christ suffered every struggle, pain, emotion, and loss. But He also enjoyed every success, win, and happy moment with us. And because of that, I am able to keep going, despite how ridiculously tired I am, I feel my Savior's love in everything that I am able to do as a missionary. Through the lovely people we get to meet, serve, or rejected by. I know that this is the true church, and that this is His work.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jill
As missionaries, we proselyte to be able to help others come closer to Christ. So that they too can have the happiness of this Gospel in their lives, and help them feel the love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us. Show more Show less
